Job Summary and Qualifications

The Hyperbaric Technician (HT) demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to operate the hyperbaric chamber.   

  • You will be operating the chamber; the HT insures adherence to the treatment profile, staff decompression and life safety policies.  
  • You will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide general and age-appropriate medical care to patients in the hyperbaric chamber and clinic area.   
  • You will oversee life safety of all staff and patients, provide oxygen administration, and observe patient tolerance of the treatment and other general patient care needs as required.   
  • You will chamber system maintenance & infection control, process improvement, quality assurance, record keeping and miscellaneous rotating duties as assigned.  

Position Requirements: 

  • Hyperbaric Technologist certification preferred.  
  • AHA or ARC BLS certification required. 
  • Completion of a formal course in hyperbaric medicine theory and operation. 
  • Minimum of six months in the field of hyperbaric medicine or related field.  One to three years of experience is desirable. 
  • Works well with patients and families 
  • Strong interpersonal, assessment, and critical thinking skills.  
  • Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.  Able to articulate and demonstrate knowledge of hyperbaric operational theory and practice 
  • Must pass an annual medical fitness screening.
