This is a full-time, TEMPORARY - 8 months non-exempt position reporting to the Business Service manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform workforce liaison duties as assigned under the DAEI (DOR/AJCC Collaboration) project, providing workforce development career services to individuals with disabilities, including outreach, recruitment, and reporting.
- Coordinate services with partnering agencies, including the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), employers, and other workforce development partners, through case conferencing and regular communication to support participants toward successful employment placement.
- This position requires the ability to serve as a Disability Benefits/Work Incentives Planner, providing participants with guidance on how employment and earnings may affect SSI/SSDI and other public benefits.
- Assist businesses by identifying and presenting qualified participants to them. Deliver quality employer/customer services before, during, and after placement, including sharing timely employment information and resources with participants and staff.
- Develop work experience opportunities for participants by building business and community partner relationships. Partnerships may include paid/unpaid experiential learning opportunities such as transitional employment, subsidized on-the-job training, community service/volunteer work, internships, immediate employment opportunities, and long-term career-oriented employment at or above the self-sufficiency standard.
- Facilitate employment readiness workshops, discussion groups and/or classes to assist job seekers with the development of individualized job search strategies as needed.
- This position requires the incumbent to travel to different business throughout the Bay Area; therefore, proof of a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance, and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report are required.
- Provide ongoing job retention support to both participants and employers for one-year post placement into unsubsidized employment and document and report progress per agency standards
COMPETENCIES
- Recruiting, job placement, or sales/business development experience and expertise with a results orientation; candidates will be expected to demonstrate proof of having developed effective outreach strategies, ease and success with making cold calls and presentations, and using effective closing techniques.
- Teamwork, interpersonal flexibility, relationship-building, relationships management, coaching and excellent communication and presentation skills, oral and written.
- Group facilitation or training experience.
- Technology; Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and experience using client record management systems and/or databases.
- Cultural Responsiveness and alignment with our values and commitment to equity and inclusion
- If you don’t currently possess our organizational core competencies of Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Coaching, you are expected to participate in the necessary training Rubicon provides
- Ability to obtain the Work Incentives Practitioner Credential (WIP-C) for benefit/incentive planning within six (6) months of hire; maintaining this certification is required to retain employment in this position.
- Experience working with individuals with a disability and employment services and knowledge of WIOA Workforce Innovative Opportunity Act programming is highly desirable.
COMPENSATION
- $23-27 per hour
