Position Overview:
As a Senior Financial Analyst at Galen College of Nursing, you will be responsible for overseeing a wide variety of student accounts information, assisting with the preparation of monthly financial analysis reports and preparing journal entries. The candidate will also assist with the year-end financial aid and financial statement audit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review student schedule changes to validate the drop calculations are correct for Active students.
- Periodic bad debt analysis as requested by management.
- Provide accounting support by converting data to SAGE general ledger system, obtaining supplementary information for preparing financial statements and reviewing financial information for month end close.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of revenue recognition for individual campuses and the College as a whole, including timely analysis, reconciliation, and resolution of revenue-related variances.
- Develop and maintain Sage Intelligence reporting, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial data used to support business decision-making.
- Assist in developing standardized variance analyses, ad hoc reporting, and monitoring key financial metrics driving financial decisions into the business
- Lead the monthly Sage vs. Host crosswalk process, identifying and resolving variances to maintain financial data integrity.
- Lead the monthly reconciliation process between Sage and Host systems, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established internal controls and key financial control requirements.
- Assist the Director of Budgeting & Forecasting in Adhoc request to support forecasting accuracy.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions with co-workers, customers, vendors and others.
Position Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business-related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience, corporate or higher education experience preferred.
- Special Qualifications: Strong ability to use MS Office packages, including MS Word and Excel. Detail oriented with excellent ability to analyze data and circumstances, familiar with the use of accounting software and strong ability to communicate in writing and speaking, as well as good organizational skills.
- Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: Must be able to sit at desk for eight hours. May require prolonged monitor viewing, and extensive use of keyboard.
- Degree of Supervision: Minimal
