As the Director, North American Short-Term Funding - Canada, you will be responsible for leading the Canadian short-term funding program, with accountability for CAD funding execution and cash management with a focus on liquidity optimization. The role focuses on domestic funding programs, ensuring strong market access, and aligning with enterprise liquidity and balance sheet objectives.
Specific accountabilities of the role include:
1. Canadian Short-Term Funding Program Ownership, Market & Client Engagement
- Own and evolve Canadian short-term funding programs (e.g., CAD issuance platforms), including product mix, tenor, and investor base.
- Define strategy for CAD funding diversification, cost optimization, and market positioning.
- Maintain relationships with Canadian investors, dealers, and internal sales teams.
- Collaborate with internal sales teams to optimize client participation across front end products and issuance programs.
- Represent Canadian funding in market forums and client discussions.
2. Execution
- Oversee daily funding execution across CAD books, ensuring liquidity sufficiency and cost-efficient funding.
- Drive execution activity (deposits, BDNs, etc.) and ensure program utilization is optimized.
3. Cash Management & Optimization
- Cash management across Canadian domiciled businesses, , cash forecasting, and funding P&L drivers.
- Own Canadian Funding desk's funding accrual and MTM P&L and all key performance drivers.
- Own risk taking within approved limits, ensuring disciplined execution, robust scenario analysis, and alignment with the firm’s broader risk strategy to express macro views.
- Partner with regional funding teams to execute short-term deployment of excess cash balances for the best return.
- Collaborate with Investment teams and be their back up on their portfolio investment management.
4. Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Foster a culture of analytical rigor, risk awareness, and cross enterprise collaboration.
- Recruitment and development of team members through education, training, mentorship and performance reviews.

Requirements:
- 10+ years' experience with a treasury or capital markets context
- Strong knowledge of market and/or treasury concepts
- Solid understanding of Treasury function and their trading, valuation and risk management
- Ability to work with Front Office, Finance and Risk Management to enhance capabilities
- Technical background in regulatory frameworks (Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, Federal Reserve, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Degree educated or higher from a leading academic institution
