Department Overview
The TD Equipment Finance (TDEF) team is a Centre of Excellence within Business Banking. Our mandate is to structure equipment financing (leases and loans) for business clients and prospects as an alternative to other conventional bank sources of financing such as term loans.
Job Description
Reporting to the manager of documentation, TD Equipment Finance, this role is responsible for managing the documentation process for new originations. The CSO partners closely with one or more Account Executives and plays a key role in supporting transactions from approval through to funding.
Success in this role requires strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment while ensuring accuracy and risk mitigation.
Key accountabilities include:
- Preparing and coordinating documentation for equipment financing transactions (leases/conditional sales contracts/loans), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with approved terms
- Managing the full documentation lifecycle, including gathering required conditions, validating information, and ensuring files meet audit and funding requirements
- Coordinating closely with Account Executives, Account Managers, and internal partners to move transactions forward efficiently
- Assessing transactions for PMSI/RDPRM registration requirements, reviewing supporting searches, and coordinating waivers where required
- Applying AML and KYC requirements, ensuring all regulatory and compliance standards are met
- Using internal systems and tools to support timely, accurate deal execution
- Proactively identifying potential issues and working collaboratively to find practical solutions to keep deals on track
- Delivering a high level of service to both internal partners and customers, with a focus on responsiveness and follow-through
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with business partners to support efficient deal flow
- Supporting process improvements and participating in initiatives to enhance the overall customer experience
- Contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment and supporting team priorities as needed
- Maintaining strong knowledge of policies, procedures, and industry requirements, including compliance with Bank and industry codes of conduct
- Actively participating in the performance management process including performance reviews, feedback and coaching sessions as well as performance and development discussions.

Job Requirements
Core qualifications and skills:
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and priorities simultaneously
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and risk mitigation
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues and identify appropriate solutions
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, while also contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly and professionally with internal and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and adapt to changing processes
Technical and professional experience:
- Experience in financial services or equipment finance is an asset
- Knowledge of documentation processes, lending practices, or leasing structures is an asset
- Familiarity with RDPRM/PMSI registrations or secured lending frameworks is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Additional requirements:
- Bilingualism (English and French, written and spoken) is required
What Success Looks Like in the First 6 Months
In this role, success is demonstrated through a strong ability to manage documentation effectively while contributing positively to team performance and deal flow.
Within the first 6 months, you will:
- Build a solid understanding of TDEF products, documentation requirements, and internal processes
- Gradually take ownership of a pipeline of transactions, balancing volume, timelines, and accuracy with support as needed
- Consistently produce high-quality documentation that meets audit, compliance, and funding requirements
- Establish strong working relationships with Account Executives, Account Managers and key partners
- Demonstrate sound judgement in identifying issues and proactively working toward solutions to keep deals progressing
- Become comfortable navigating internal systems and tools to support efficient deal execution
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by supporting team priorities and sharing knowledge
- Show reliability and ownership, following through on commitments and meeting deadlines in a high-paced environment
